Here's a good one

Microsoft says I have to call Dell to get help. Talk about passing the buck.

Still here

And still having computer issues. I've been online and on the phone for most of today. In fact, I'm on hold now. This Vista 64 seems more like a downgrade. Should have spent the extra money and bought a Mac.
In other news....Norah is now trying to convince me that she has a loose tooth. She had me wiggle it this morning. But the only thing wiggling was Norah - who was most excited about the prospect of a "coin" being left under her pillow.

Lack of posts

Yep...I'm pitiful. Very slow on posting lately. Just got the new computer on monday. Have been struggling with getting it up and running. Apparently, everything I had on the old computer doesn't work on this new Vista 64. Spent 2 days on the phone with tech support to try to get the web cam running and gave up. It still doesn't work. Tech support finally said, why don't you call Microsoft because we can't help you. Lovely.
We're here in Michigan for the weekend...visiting PoPo....back on sunday. It's pretty sad when you go to Michigan for spring break and realize that it counts as a warm weather destination compared to Minnesota. No wonder Jim has such a hard time recruiting a new guy to his group.

More Museum pictures

How do you like Norah's tail? They made Clifford ears and tails. And of course, how could I resist a picture of the puppies in a dog house?

Children's Museum

Busy day here. Went to the Children's Museum to have "breakfast" with Clifford. Jim had to work today so we took Lolo's friend, Addie, with us. Of course, "breakfast" was at 10am so it actually was more of a mid morning snack. And then we had to stay and play for a while longer.

Not done with winter

So I come downstairs after a meeting today to discover the girls outside. Norah's got the green sled....trying desperately to sled down our hill. Unfortunately for her, there's no snow and the going was pretty tough. Norah's not done with winter yet.

Mud, mud and more mud

We're existing in a mud pit right now. Spring snow melt. You wouldn't believe the stream of water that is running into our basement right now. There's a little mini-waterfall coming in through our window well. Can't wait for this part of our project to be over. The girls, however, are enjoying the mud immensely. We've been riding bikes and jumping rope in the new garage. And it involves a walk through our mud pit. Oh joy. My little pigs love going through the mud!
I didn't mention that Nicholas and Lolo both got new sneakers yesterday. So today, after the birthday party, Nicholas comes to our door wondering if we'd like to go for a "run". And off we go. Wow. In their new sneakers. Stomping through every single puddle along the way. Soaked before we're even half way home. Clearly, I was born yesterday.

From today's birthday party

Another busy day for us today...the girls attended a Pump It Up birthday party. This morning, the girls were arguing who was Olivia's (the birthday girl) friend. Lolo claimed Olivia was her friend and that Norah just got an invite because we were good friends with the family. Norah took offense and corrected her sister that no, Olivia was her friend too.
In other news, I signed Lolo up for soccer this summer. Hopefully, she will be on a team with her friend Nicholas (Olivia's younger brother)...although I'm sure Norah will tell you Nicholas is HER friend too.

A few more Utah pictures

And because no ski trip could ever be complete without a picture of Lolo lying down and messing around on the slopes....

Bribery at church?

Today I was talking to the girls about their favorite part of going to church. Lolo likes going to the children's service (they do arts and crafts and read a "story"). Norah declares that her favorite part is eating donuts. Does this count as bribery?

Getting back on schedule

It's been a tough week. Not sure why. You'd think we crossed several time zones with the girls. Getting them up and ready in the mornings was tough this week. And my mid-afternoon, one or the other would be at meltdown point. Tonight, they both lost their bedtime story privilege. Unbelieveable. So uncharacteristic. I'm not sure what's causing this...other than the trip last week. Maybe it's because they were both on their very best behavior last week and this week is a chance to get everything out. Who knows. I'm thankful tomorrow is saturday. We're planning a very leisurely day. The only thing on tap is to go to a toy store to pick out a birthday present for their friend Olivia and some panty shopping for Lolo...she's busting out of everything.
On a happier note....the girls and I went out for a walk today to enjoy some sunshine. Of course, with the sunshine comes runoff from snow melt. They promptly found every possible puddle along the way and stomped in each and every one. They arrived home looking like little piglets that had rolled in the mud. I'm doing laundry now.

Cutest skier ever

And because I'm a proud mama....here's our baby doll once again. I didn't get a great video of Lolo. She's too fast. I need to get a helmet cam to keep up with her. Lolo was complaining about having to do follow the leader in ski school. She wanted to be first all the time because the other kids all skied too slow and would fall down. LOL! That's my girl. See you at the World Cup!

Photos

I don't have photoshop on this computer. It's too slow and old. So I'm waiting until I get my new one (in 2-3 weeks). Photos that need to be edited will be uploaded later.

Back up - kind of...

We're back. Last week was frustrating from a technology standpoint. Our internet connection at Powder Mountain was deplorable....have had better connectivity in third world countries. But that's a rant for another day....
Then, upon our return, our main computer goes bad. It's been out for several days with the "experts" who have told us that there is a short in the motherboard and that we're better off just buying a new computer. Lovely.
So, now that it's thursday...I've resigned myself to using the slow-as-christmas laptop. Sigh.
On the bright side, I've given our credit card a real workout today. I bought a new computer and airfare for an upcoming trip. I'll break it to Jim gently when he comes home while he's eating pumpkin bread pudding.
But now...for the main event, and why you check into the blog...
Here's a video of Norah's first day in the terrain park. The girl is a maniac. She squeals (like a three year old should) everytime Jim takes her off of a jump. Absolutely loves it. Jim and I try to trade off the runs because it's hard on the knees to be Norah's brakes....but she constantly wants to do "Jumps" and I told her that "Mama doesn't do jumps."

Powder Mountain

We're north of Salt Lake this week. Skiing Powder Mountain primarily (although today the adults did head over to Snowbasin for a day). The kids are having a great time. The skiing has been good. Not many posts this week...the internet connection is spotty and slow. You'd think we were in Mexico. Can't even upload photos (not to mention a video). Will upload those when we get back.
Norah is zipping down the slopes. She's amazing for her size. And Lolo is as amazing as ever - her teacher today called her "stellar".
