Our Norah is probably one of the most persistent kids I've ever encountered. If she sets her mind on something, she'll work at it until she gets it (or howls for a long time in protest). This morning, she got up early and I brought her into our bed (hoping in vain that she might go back to sleep). She set her mind on climbing up on our pillows to reach the cord for the blinds. I must have pulled her down and said "no" at least five times. Then she crawled over to Jim and tried to reach the cord from his side of the bed. It's like this for just about anything she sets her mind on that we don't want her to do....ie, playing with dirty shoes, playing with electrical cords, pulling open the shower curtain while one of us is taking a shower, etc. It's a little disconcerting to see this trait develop in Norah....great trait to have if it's channeled properly, but my goodness, can you imagine how dangerous this child could be if she goes astray?!
